Janaka Bandara Ekanayake is the Chair Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Peradeniya. He is a visiting professor at the Institute of Energy at Cardiff University, UK and Honorary Professor of the School of Electrical, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering, the University of Wollongong, Australia. He also servered as the Stratergic Professor of Universiti Tenaga National, Malaysia for the period 2018 – 2021 and a Visiting Professorial Fellow of the University of Wollongong, Australia for the period 2017 - 2020. He obtained BScEng with a First Class Honours from the University of Peradeniya in Feb 1990 and the PhD from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, UK in 1995.
